Trailing a Killer has compelling suspense and a touching romance, plus a great search and rescue dog. Carol Post keeps the excitement going throughout the book. Warning: There is no good stopping place until The End. I did not have the bad guy figured out before he was caught. Cody and Erin had a summer romance before she broke it off and left for college. When they are reunited years later, both have some emotional hurdles to cross before they can have that HEA. The author did a good job developing her characters. The changes didn't take place overnight, and there were setbacks like in real life. I highly recommend this to readers of romantic suspense, inspirational romance, and clean romance. Oh, and to dog lovers too--Alcee is wonderful! I would not hesitate to recommend this to family and friends. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this gripping romantic suspense.

I loved Cody and Erin's story! They had a "summer romance" years prior when they were young but went their separate ways and never thought they'd see each other again. They both never forgot each other, however! Erin is a K-9 search and rescue officer and in the aftermath of a hurricane, she is called out to a collapsed building to see if there is a survivor, long with her dog. Thankfully, her dog finds someone and she is shocked to discover that survivor is Cody! What is he doing here in Florida? When they find out the building was brought down by a bomb and not the hurricane, Cody's life is in danger and so begins the action-packed story! I really enjoyed how Cody and Erin worked through several individual problems along with the danger Cody was facing. I also LOVED the K-9 dog. He was amazing! A wonderful book with great characters!

This is a clean, Christian, suspense romance as well as stand alone in this series. Lee County, Florida Detective Erin Jeffries is also a volunteer K-9 officer in the Peach River Seach & Rescue. After a hurricane passes by she gets a call about a possible victim trapped under the ruble. She and her K-9 dog Alcee, rush to help. When the man is finally rescued, she never expected to come face to face with Cody Elbourne. The boy she loved and left over 12 years ago. But surviving the collapsed building is only the beginning of the dangers Cody is facing as more attempts on his life escalate. Why does someone want him dead? Who can they trust? As Erin does her best to keep Cody safe, her heart might not be so. Both have either loved the wrong person, or been left behind. Once Cody is safe from danger, will they trust God and give love a chance? This was another engaging story in the series with likable and complex main characters . I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
