About the author

Camille Helkowski, Med, NCC, LCPC has over thirty years of experience as a counselor, clinical supervisor, educator, writer, and presenter, with extensive work in higher education in the arenas of administration, counseling and supervision, instruction, program and project management. Currently, she maintains a private counseling practice in Lincolnwood, IL where she provides counseling services to individuals and couples around a broad spectrum of issues including relational concerns, grief and loss, healing from trauma, career concerns across the life-span, and special counseling needs of young adults. Helkowski has demonstrated her leadership abilities with a range of successful staff and student teams and is an acknowledged expert on the topics of young adult development and related transitions, and career development throughout the lifespan. She is the co-author of several articles and books, including: Connect College to Career: A Student’s Guide to Work and Life Transitions with Paul Hettich and The College Student Counseling Treatment Planner with Chris Stout and Art Jongma. She has also designed and taught Career Counseling for Pastoral Counselors for Loyola University Chicago’s Institute of Pastoral Studies MPC program and graduate courses in career theory and counseling, group counseling, and practicum seminar for Argosy University Chicago. Additionally, she is a highly regarded speaker, trainer, and group facilitator. She received her bachelor’s degree from DePaul University and her master’s in counseling from Loyola University Chicago.
