About this ebook

BEING A HERO ISN'T A WALK ON MARS!

Alexander S. Ryker dreams of becoming a hero, but dreams are hard to achieve when you’ve caused several million credits worth of property damage. Being expelled from the Mars Police Academy isn’t helping his case. Crushed, Alex encounters a girl named Gabrielle Angelise in a meeting that will change his life forever.

Gabrielle is an alien! She’s also on the run. Alex wonders if this is the chance that he’s been waiting for, the chance to finally become a hero. Opportunities like this don’t come often, or ever, and so Alex steps up to protect Gabrielle and make his dream a reality. He will become a hero—if the strain from living with an alien bombshell doesn’t kill him first!

While not his best work, this one is definitely a fun read. It reminds me a lot of To Love Ru, but the protagonist isn't a wheenie like Rito Yuki. He's more decisive. His personality is also consistent with his characterization, unlike the majority of anime harem protagonists who only show kindness or stand up for themselves when the plot demands it. Alex is a strong character with a complex and mysterious background that hasn't been revealed in this first volume. I won't lie. I'm curious to know more. I also love Gabrielle. She's such a cinnamon roll. I truly enjoyed reading this book.

An ecchi harem romance series where the protagonist is from a shounen series. It feels like if you took To Love Ru and swapped out Rito for someone like Issei from High-School DxD or another similar shounen. He's a bit of a "Gary-stu" but honestly, that's better than the alternative. A fun series that in many ways feels superior to To Love Ru

Another fun series by Brandon Varnell and well worth the read. I think this might be the one outta the most where I was wishing I was the main character while reading it :)
