THE INSIDE STORY ON PRESIDENT TRUMP, AS ONLY BOB WOODWARD CAN TELL IT

With authoritative reporting honed through nine presidencies, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies.

Fear is the most intimate portrait of a sitting president ever published during the president’s first years in office. The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One and the White House residence.

Woodward draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files and documents. Often with day-by-day details, dialogue and documentation, Fear tracks key foreign issues from North Korea, Afghanistan, Iran, the Middle East, NATO, China and Russia. It reports in-depth on Trump’s key domestic issues particularly trade and tariff disputes, immigration, tax legislation, the Paris Climate Accord and the racial violence in Charlottesville in 2017.

Fear presents vivid details of the negotiations between Trump’s attorneys and Robert Mueller, the special counsel in the Russia investigation, laying out for the first time the meeting-by-meeting discussions and strategies. It discloses how senior Trump White House officials joined together to steal draft orders from the president’s Oval Office desk so he would not issue directives that would jeopardize top secret intelligence operations.

“It was no less than an administrative coup d’état,” Woodward writes, “a nervous breakdown of the executive power of the most powerful country in the world.”

This is my first book by Bob Woodward and I must say it was very interesting. I was surprised with it's content to tell the truth. I had first thought it would just be a long tale of Trump bashing but it does almost the opposite. It doesn't vindicate Trump, nor does it condemn him. It tells the story of the inner workings of the White House over roughly the first two years of Trump's presidency, and does a great job filling in the gaps in the media's narratives while showing what usually went on behind the scenes.

Why are you letting people review a book that isn't even out yet? That's really messed up Google. It completely skews any actual reviews this book might get by people who will actually read it once the book is actually available to read to allow this reporting system, who came up with this idea? This book now has a highly biased review, it's probably lower than it should be due to reviews by people who will likely never read it, merely because they dislike, or disagree with Woodward's point of view, statements or simply don't like him on a personal level (btw making people buy it first doesn't help this, you can buy it, review it and return it in the span of time to takes to hit 1 star, no problem). Worse, that works both ways. It may also bias it favorably, via reviews from people who like and appreciate Woodward's work but also have yet to read the book. This would include my own 5 star review, which I submitted purely because I feel Woodward has been subjected to your bizarre and patently unfair rating system that has caused this book, which is not even available to read yet, to most likely be underrated. I've come to this conclusion based on Woodward's history of excellent writing and journalistic integrity. If anyone out there is listening, you should seriously rethink the way you allow book reviews.
