The Perfect Affair helps to understand the connections that Jessie has developed with people around her as I've read books that were written after this one previously. In this story she is trying to understand why LAPD is trying to cover the killing of a teenager who was involved in the porn film industry as well as searching for her killer. There's a lot of action, good humored banter among characters, and a good insight in the relationship between Hannah and Jessie. Easy to read, entertaining.

When a teenage porn star is found dead in her room, the LAPD dismiss it as not a top priority to investigate. In fact, the local cops make a thorough mess of the crime scene .... having the body transferred before the detectives even arrive .... leaving behind potential evidence. FBI Agent Jessie Hunt knows something smells.. but her gut instinct is that this may go further up the chain to the upper echelons of power with the help of law enforcement. Who is she to trust with this information? It seems like she's on her own .. and then the threatening phone calls begin .... an "accidental" hit and run attempt. This is well written, with twists and turns and surprises interspersed with multiple suspects, boyfriends new and old, friends who may not have been friends. This is the 7th book in this psychological suspense series, and is easily read as a stand alone. The suspense starts on the very first page, with skillfully drawn characters racing to an unexpected ending. Many thanks to the author / Booksirens for the digital copy of this crime fiction. My favorite, so far, in this series. An engrossing read. I could not put it down. Once again, Blake Pierce has managed to create an exciting tale that keeps you on your toes. The great thing is that this story can be read as part of the series or as a stand alone. It’s just that good.
