About this ebook

For this new edition of The Writer's Tale, Russell T Davies and Benjamin Cook expand their in-depth discussion of the creative life of Doctor Who to cover Russell's final year as Head Writer and Executive Producer of the show, as well as his work behind the increasingly successful Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures spin-offs. Candid and witty insights abound throughout two years' worth of correspondence, covering David Tennant's last episodes as the Doctor and the legacy that Russell and David leave behind as a new era of Doctor Who begins.

With over 300 pages of new material, and taking in events from the entire five years since the show's return in 2005, The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter is the most comprehensive - and personal - account of Doctor Who ever published.

I actually got this book for Christmas. My sister picked it up second hand, for $3, and it was the gift that meant the most to me. I am only a third of the way through the book, (I am a mother of 3 girls ages 8, 4 and 5 months, so it is taking a bit) but so far I am loving it. Davies is a writing genius, and the insight into his methods has been amazing. I recommend this book strongly to any true Whovian.

For a book that is almost completely emails and texts it is one of the most interesting things I have read and I was weirdly gripped to every word. When starting it I was halfway through a game of thrones (I thought I'd just see what the writers tale was quickly like) and a week later I had finished the writers tale and was in exactly the same place with game of thrones!
