I enjoyed this book. Was a little bit drawn out in some parts, but Barbara clearly had amazing survival instincts, she was clearly a fighter, and remained a fighter through all of her adolescent years and into her adult years. I really hope her book help some others to come forward. Dr. Milner should have had to pay his dues, but unfortunately he passed before anyone could truly hold him accountable. A brave woman nonetheless.

Again it's an incredible story well worth the telling, and subsequent reading. The author probably would have benefited from the help of a co-author, someone a little more experience to help smooth things out a bit. Don't let that discourage you from reading the book though, it's difficult content but we can't bury our heads in the sand.

Now that I've got your attention - this book deserves 10 stars or more. Way too many psychopaths were and still are masquerading as 'respectable' regular people - a snapshot of their appalling depravity is evident in this powerful and ruthlessley compelling story. These derelict fortresses of torture should be opened as museums so that each and everyone of us can gain awareness into the darkest and most destructive sides of human behaviour that still vividly permeates from their walls.

About the author

Barbara O'Hare was admitted to Aston Hall psychiatric hospital when she was 12-years-old, where she was subjected to horrifying courses of 'treatment' from its head physician. Frequently injected with drugs, locked away and abused, Barbara has attempted to come to terms with her time at Aston Hall 46 years on. After creating the Facebook group 'Survivors of Aston Hall', victims have been brought together in their search for answers of how the abuse they suffered came to pass, and was kept secret for so long. Their efforts have led to a major police investigation and a meeting at the Houses of Parliament to have their story heard. Now, more than 100 people have come forward alleging abuse at Aston Hall.

This is Barbara's first book, exposing the abuse she suffered at Aston Hall.
