About this ebook

Robert James, a retired military man living in Las Vegas with his family, foresees the economic fall of America. He realizes that when America falls, Las Vegas is the last place on Earth one would want to be living in. He gathers a group of his friends and informs them of what he strongly believes is coming. He and most of his friends form a survival group. When they witness the nation self-destruct and fall into chaos, Las Vegas becomes a death trap. When law and order breaks down, thugs and large gangs run amok, attacking anyone who can't defend themselves. The group, led by Robert James, flee the city to seek a safe haven for their families. Robert's son, Ryan, kills a white supremacist brother in self-defense. The group finds themselves being pursued by a rogue army led by Bates, a white supremacist bent on revenge. Valiantly the group fights for their lives, encountering danger and death at every turn in the road.

About the author

You could be forgiven for thinking the name Bobby McMackin was a famous NASCAR driver. No, he isn’t; he is a father, a husband, and a former dedicated serviceman in the United States Air Force. And now he is an author.

In true Quentin Tarantino style, Bobby McMackin, while working the graveyard shift at a Las Vegas video store, decided to write a fictional story about the breakup of the Soviet Union and was working on the fifth chapter when the Soviet Union actually did collapse.

His story was no longer fiction, so he put the few chapters he had written into a box and placed them in the closet in his computer room. There they sat for years.

Then in the spring of 2007, Bobby was going through some of his old papers and came across the unfinished story and decided to write a fictional story about the collapse of America.

He called his sister Elsie L. James and sent her a copy of his story.

Elsie asked Bobby if it was all right if she added some dialogue, and he agreed.

From that point on, they worked together as coauthors on The Caves of Loring.

Bobby had five hundred copies of their novel printed in paperback and passed them out to family, friends, and total strangers to read and to give them feedback on what they thought about their novel. They received outstanding reviews from their readers, with many of them asking them to write a sequel.

After some discussion, Bobby and Elsie wrote an outline for their sequel. The Lair was penned.

Bobby isn’t finished there, for he and Elsie have plans for more books, which is only a blessing for the thousands of readers and fans they have built up.

Enjoy!
