Ratings and reviews

The first red flag was inside the cover of the book where it describes Amelie marrying Jed. She marries Ned. If the publisher can't get the bad guy's name right from the start, that's a problem. I found the "present" parts of the book too long and once we got into Part Two, it was the same story that's been written time and time again. Evil guy tricks stupid good girl into marriage. And she discovers he's killed all her friends. It was a disappointing book for me.

This is a new to me author, but I will definitely be looking for more of her stories. if you enjoy mystery and suspense, I think you’ll enjoy this story. I know I can’t wait to read more of this authors works. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Never heard of this author, got the book on a whim. It's a great read and I enjoyed it. I'll be reading another of her books soon.

She grew up in England but has spent most of her adult life in France. She has worked both in finance and as a teacher and has five daughters. The Prisoner is her sixth novel.
