About the author

BRIJENDRA SINGH, D.Phil., is Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Lucknow, Lucknow and was Head in the same department from 2007 to 2009. Earlier, he was Professor and Head, Department of Information Technology, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. Dr. Singh received his D.Phil. degree in the field of Computer Science from J.K. Institute of Applied Physics and Technology, University of Allahabad, Allahabad. He has taught and researched at various reputed institutions including IIT Kharagpur, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Trivandrum, NIT Kurukshetra, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Taejon, Korea. Dr. Singh is the author of three books. Besides, he has published forty-five technical papers related to Computer Science and Reliability Engineering. Dr. Singh is a recipient of the Gowari Memorial Award in 1995 from the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Delhi. He has received the honour of International Man of the Year (1999–2000) from International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England. Dr. Singh has organized a number of conferences, seminars and workshops in the areas of network security and management, software quality and reliability. He has also chaired several technical sessions and delivered invited talks in national and international conferences.
