I have owned six sets of every book Anne McCaffrey has written. The White Dragon is my favorite! I can sit down and not stop reading until I have completed it again. No stopping to eat, sleep, or anything else until I close the cover upon completing the whole book again. This was the first of her books I ever read. Have read it over 25 times. I just enjoy it a "little!" Right!!! I almost got to meet her at a book-signing but unfortunately, she became ill and passed away before she returned to the US.

Even though I am an adult, I still find myself enjoying a "Pern afternoon" on a blustery winter day. I've reread this book so many times I've lost count, and still fully enjoy it. Come along for the ride.

Jaxon is my least favorite of the main characters, but Ruth is rather charming and Jaxon gets more tolerable as he grows up haha. Still love this book so much.

Anne McCaffrey, one of the world’s most popular authors, is best known for her Dragonriders of Pern® series. She was the first woman to win the two top prizes for science fiction writing, the Hugo and Nebula awards. She was also given the American Library Association’s Margaret A. Edwards Award for Lifetime Literary Achievement in Young Adult Fiction, was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, and was named a Science Fiction Writers of America Grand Master. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1926, McCaffrey relocated to Ireland in the 1970s, where she lived in a house of her own design, named Dragonhold-Underhill. She died in 2011.
