The author, honestly has a great story and imagination. I applaud him for what he has brought He gets 3 stars for this reason, mainly to emphasize: You have to get an editor or run through it yourself, because there are numerous times in at least books 1 and 2 that I've read where: You don't know who's speaking, descriptions of things going on is lacking. Compared to other light novels I've run across, this is the most mediocre in its release on showing what's going on. This is not to say the author cannot describe well. His introductory description of arriving in the new world was excellent. He just, between books 1 and 2, never seemed to improve on showing who's talking, referenced well in that exact same scene. So, author = wonderful imagination, but very lacking in what needs to be shown and described Please, as an author, this is necessary for readers

I love this book and anime so much it's like the story of my life episode both 1 and 2 I just wish I had my episode 21 and 22 so I can live the rest of my life in peace. Throw your 1s up if you know what it feels like to be lied on and had your honor and good name thrown in the mud. Who ever made rising of the shield hero thank you for helping me to cope with the world we are now living in I am so totally humbled and grateful please continue making such great content.

The anime was great but at this price for a 300 page book I'm not paying 13 dollars I would pay 9 but not 13 so the manga and light novels stay unread because the author or overseas company wants way to much for a 300 page book and I bet at least 50 of the pages aren't even story

About the author

Aneko Yusagi was born in Kanagawa. After growing interested in reading and gaming, Aneko began to write novels. Aneko wrote The Rising of the Shield Hero and began posting it online. After updating the story daily, an unprecedented amount of readers became addicted to the rapid pace of the advancing story, and the novel became an online hit. It was first collected and published by Media Factory in Japan in August of 2013. Aneko Yusagi was recently quoted saying, “I will rise and find great success in life.”
