About the author

Andy Warhol was one of the most creative artists, widely known for his highly innovative portraits and representations of popular culture. Kurt Benirschke, MD, is well known for his work in pathology and widely published in that field. Benirschke's interest in conservation is more than a "hobby," one to which he is extremely devoted. Benirschke is Professor of Pathology and Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and is Trustee and former Director of Research of the San Diego Zoo.
