I really enjoyed the adventures of Divana and Kennan. This story took me from Scotland to the Caribbean. The world of Scottish clans as well as privateers and pirates. I loved Divana's hardiness to survive on her own, her stubbornness to go for what she wanted, and kindness as she befriended all she could. Her curiosity could have gotten her killed but she managed to stay alive. Kennan was a caring man when he was not in leadership mode. He was also a survivor and very single-minded when it came to revenge and to Divana. I highly recommend this story and the series. I received an ARC of this story through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

Superb swashbuckling adventure on the high seas! Kennan is firmly established as our hero right from the very first pages. He escapes traitors and pirates, survives icy waters and marauding sharks, and washes up on exiled Divana's secluded island barely alive. After she nurses him back to health, he devises a plan that will get them both rescued and returned to the mainland, only to meet up with yet another threat that has them on the run. This story was reminiscent of the great Errol Flynn movies, filled with warmhearted heroes and soft but strong heroines. Kennan is torn between his revenge against the pirate, his duty to his clan, and his growing affection for the entirely unsuitable Divana. Through it all, he's every girl's dream hero, a man of courage and conviction who will stop at nothing to see justice done. Divana was a delightful change to the usual romance heroine. Her beauty isn't perfect, her history initially makes people afraid to be around her, yet her bravery and dedication to Kennan are unquestioned and unmatched. She's the other half he never realized he needed, but once his eyes are opened to what his heart has been telling him all along, there's nothing that can stand in their way. I loved the relationship Kennan had with his crew as well. The three that he was closest with were like brothers to him, and their loyalty and service was heartwarming and commendable. Runner stole a piece of my heart right from the beginning, even more so when Bannock came on the scene. Their HEA came in two wonderful yet separate parts, each one absolutely perfect for that moment in their lives. It was a very satisfying HEA all around, as justice wins the day and every good deed was amply rewarded. I highly recommend this romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
