Written in the Foreward(s), it is explained why we have stories in the book. We want to reach the alcoholic, sometimes identifying "in" helps us the reach step 1. Then we're more open to the instructions in the first pages. The purpose of having the whole Big Book in electronic format serves many purposes. For starters you can read it in anonymous, without others knowing what your reading. Reason two is related to reason one, no one knows you have a AA Big Book with you. Reason three is when going to many types of meeting's, the format may include the whole book and not just the first 164 pages. The list goes on for having the whole Big Book, and at least a choice of the first and last edition in electronic format. It needs to be clear in the description what the contents include right up front. Thanks and rule 62!

This book as is has the instructions on how to obtain and retain sobriety. The first 164 pages of the Big Book is the program. "The Stories" are drunk a logs, and really have no bearing on the program and how it works. Yes I too enjoy the stories, but they played no part in getting me sober, living Happy Joyless and Free. Make your own story.
