In the sequel to the 1979 film Alien, Ellen Ripley is forced to return to planet LV-426, where her crew encountered the hostile Alien creature. There they discovered hundreds of eggs, and just one slaughtered everyone but Ripley. Each page read was accompanied in my mind by a blank to be filled by the relevant scene from the film. A little enhancement goes a long way in this case. I distinctly recall the scene where Ripley and Newt are trapped in Medical with the two facehuggers, which in the book differs slightly from the way the film depicts it -- the resultant plot hole surprises me. A little more forethought in each scene enhances the underlying conflict by a significant order of magnitude. I'm glad to have read this.
