Tetapi setelah menyelesaikannya, dia memutuskan untuk mengembangkan cerita ini menjadi novel utuh, Dead Man’s Folly, yang diterbitkan dua tahun kemudian. Setelah 60 tahun, barulah novela ini akhirnya diterbitkan.
