About this ebook

The astonishing sequel to Children of Time, the award-winning novel of humanity's battle for survival on a terraformed planet.

Thousands of years ago, Earth's terraforming program took to the stars. On the world they called Nod, scientists discovered alien life -- but it was their mission to overwrite it with the memory of Earth. Then humanity's great empire fell, and the program's decisions were lost to time.

Aeons later, humanity and its new spider allies detected fragmentary radio signals between the stars. They dispatched an exploration vessel, hoping to find cousins from old Earth.

But those ancient terraformers woke something on Nod better left undisturbed.

Too !any technical details and not enough character development. This book tells you that the spaceship that they made fires it's engine in a 2.5 nanosecond patter to counterbalance the weights of it's hull that was designed to reduce structural wear because it was developed in a vacuum. For the character relationships it will say that they don't really care about each other but they work together. That's lazy. Other than that, the actually story with all the technical details removed is very compelling and has a beautiful overall theme. It involves self Discovery and promotes understanding and finding commonality of tht which is not yourself.

Read a few of his books, he generally liked, this was a horrible rambling mess of a book. Sorry I started and even sorrier I finished it. The middle was bad, the end worse. Completely unfulfiling and actually depressing.
