Book Bruin Kim
CW: gaslighting and emotional abuse (past and on page), physical abuse (on page, secondary character), classism, depression, PTSD, & past suicidal ideation (secondary character), cheating ex, complications during childbirth/delivery (on page, secondary character), parental abandonment, toxic parental relationships Every time I finish a book by Abby Jimenez, I can’t help but wish that her characters were real. That’s how engrossed and invested I am in the happiness of these fictional characters. I'm always amazed by Abby Jimenez’s ability to pull so many emotions and feelings out of me. The balance of sweetness, humor, and more serious topics (please see CW’s) in Part of Your World was so impressive. Plus, this novel has one of THE swooniest heroes ever. I’m normally not a big fan of age gap romances, but I loved Daniel and Alexis. Daniel may be almost a decade younger than Alexis, but he definitely had an old soul. He understood her on a level that few others ever had and he was truly able to see her for who she was. Their chemistry and banter had me rooting for them right from the start and though Jimenez puts readers on an emotional roller coaster, it’s worth all the drops, twists, and turns. I appreciated that the love story in Part of Your World wasn’t just a romantic one. There’s also the love of friendship, the love between family (born into and found), the love for yourself and that of your community. I fell in love with the entire town of Wakan and the touch of magic throughout the story was a fun addition. There were so many wonderful secondary characters and I cannot wait for Bri’s story next. A heartfelt novel from start to finish! *I beta read an early edition of this book and voluntarily read this advance review copy*

Part of Your World is hands down my favorite book I've read so far this year! I've enjoyed all of Abby Jimenez's books that I've read, but this one stole my heart; there was so much to love! Alexis Montgomery comes from a long line of distinguished doctors and she and her brother are expected to carry on that legacy. While on the way home from a funeral, Alexis ends up in a ditch a couple of hours from home only to be saved by a cute guy. Daniel Grant lives in the small town of Wakan and while he's the town mayor and runs the B&B, he's also a very talented carpenter. While he may only be 28, he's wise beyond his years and is secure in who he is while trying to continue living up to the Grant family name. When Alexis is rescued by Daniel and they finally meet again, the sparks between them are undeniable! They both have their own obligations in their own hometowns and while the pull is so strong for them to be together, will they be able to make it work? Alexis has man outside influences that are causing stress and knowing how opposite their lives are makes her think maybe she needs to leave Daniel and Wakan behind. This was such a fantastic story. I was enthralled from the beginning and while the romantic love was there and the chemistry off the charts, I loved the friendship that was formed between Alexis and Daniel as well. I felt all the emotions reading this book; I laughed, cried, swooned and smiled. As I said above, this is one of my favorites of the year so far. Do yourself a favor and pick it up - you won't be sorry!

Gorgeous, Sensitive, Relatable. Abby does an amazing job crafting a world where we just want everything to work out, and as the omniscient observer, we want to will the happy ever after into place. She helps us care about ALL of the characters, and even the very life force of a town and random animals in this heart-swelling novel. Each of Abby's novels touches on a sensitive subject, carefully weaving the intricacies of that subject with the story we all become deeply invested in. in Part of Your World, abuse of different varieties is shown, as well as the work and effort to overcome the abuse indoctrination and learn to love yourself while trusting others again. Here, we follow Alexis's journey of healing and growing her own voice and path. Daniel finds his own self worth while discovering his own destiny. Worlds collide in heart-breaking, heart-warming, and belly-laughing ways.
