About this ebook

The aging orc shaman Ner'zhul has seized control of the Horde and reopened the Dark Portal. His brutal warriors once again encroach upon Azeroth, laying siege to the newly constructed stronghold of Nethergarde Keep. There, the archmage Khadgar and the Alliance commander, Turalyon, lead humanity and its elven and dwarven allies in fighting this new invasion.

Even so, disturbing questions arise. Khadgar learns of orcish incursions farther abroad: small groups of orcs who seem to pursue a goal other than simple conquest. Worse yet, black dragons have been sighted as well, and they appear to be aiding the orcs. To counter Ner'zhul's dark schemes, the Alliance must now invade the orcs' ruined homeworld of Draenor. Can Khadgar and his companions stop the nefarious shaman in time to stave off the destruction of two worlds?

This is the first warcraft book I've read after being a fan of the video game series for years. The story was very interesting and engaging in many parts, I could envision the world clearly through the language and experiences of the game series. Some of the world of draenor was a little confusing with the distances between zones and the length it took to travel, but I can't really fault it on that alone. Overall it was a great read, I couldn't put it down most nights!

I liked the book had a good story to it but I really disliked how they portrayed the orcs in some of this and being so under skilled at fighting. They seemed to just drop like flies at some points, even some of the chieftains. All in all good even with some of the typos and screwed up descriptions.

I've started reading the Warcraft franchise with this book and, damn, it was amazing. As an 8 years old WoW player and also a very interested about lore person, everything makes a lot of sense. Things link to each other in a very polished way, sign that the story was very well tought before the books. The book starts already with action, so you don't get bored at the start. 11/10 Must-Read! Trust me, m8s! Peace!
