More detail: What this book is, and what it is not:

The Positive Thinking Secret is a tool to help remove discontentment & discouragement, and to provide hope and inspiration. Understanding the secret helps a person find happiness, meaning, and joy, regardless of the circumstances they face in life.

The 'Positive Thinking Secret' is NOT a cure for autoimmune disease. It is a helping hand for the broken or downtrodden spirit. While it is possible this secret may aid in physical healing, that is not the point of this book.

This book is graphic and intense at times. If you are looking for a book full of positive affirmations, you won't find that here. This book is a very detailed account of a year of the Author's life. Many of the chapters take you on a journey with sometimes intense details of the author's suffering through a debilitating auto-immune disease.

If you have a low tolerance for the harsh reality of the pain of disease, you may not be able to handle this book. The language is clean, but there are many details about a severe medical condition. The author gives a full, open, and honest account including journal entries and emails containing real-time thoughts that were happening through the process. It also contains accounts of intense emotional suffering.

The people who love this book are those who are intrigued by a compelling and true story told straight from the heart of someone who was able to use the Positive Thinking Secret to find happiness and joy even in the midst of massive pain and adversity.

Everyone experiences adversity and pain, as well as times of pleasure and happiness. This book will give you a fresh way of looking at ALL experiences, which if applied, is sure to bring joy to your soul.

This is more like a diary ; a journey through a painful medical illness and the toll it takes on the author and his family. The positive thinking aspects seems like an after thought. Essentially, this is a collection of post on his website about his painful journey through a chronic diagnosis that is pieced together to make a book. This is not a book about positive thinking. More of a personal diary about the pain and struggle of finding a diagnosis in a flawed medical system, the toll it takes on ones family and the eventual resolution. No secret to positive thinking is identified or appears to be acted on by the author. In fact it seems to be an after thought. Processed Food and the development of a chronic medical illness would be a better title

My view is that if God is really up there and im not saying he isnt, I dont believe he has half as much of a hand in our lives as we like to think he does. Sometimes crap happens... not because God is testing us, crap just happens. Thats why we have free agency. No one up there is pulling our strings and forcing bad or great things to happen to us. Often we simply attract negative energy, other times poop just happens. Responsibility is ours. Kind of annoying religious talk and repetitive use of 'amazing'.

This book focuses on Aaron's spiritual beliefs stating that any problem you have, be it health, money or other is a learning/testing experience provided by "God". In the book Aaron ignores dangerous medical issues and puts himself in perilous danger so that he can go biking, running and play other games with his kids and friends. Aaron discusses laying in a fetal position in so much pain that he cannot move while realizing that if he just thinks about the things he is grateful for, his pain is lessoned. Aaron pushes a lot of his responsibilities onto his wife, who has just had her fourth child and he talks about how bad he feels, while not taking care of his medical issues which would allow him to live a normal life, but no matter, he is happy! It seems like the title of this book should be "Positive thinking by blaming a non-existent deity for your troubles"
