PreciselyweuseCritical PointTheorytoobtainexistenceresults, qualitativeinnature, whichholdtrueforbroadclassesofpotentials. Thishighlights thatthevariationalmethods, whichhavebeenemployedtoob tainimportantadvancesinthestudyofregularHamiltonian systems, canbesuccessfallyusedtohandlesingularpotentials aswell. Theresearchonthistopicisstillinevolution, andtherefore theresultswewillpresentarenottobeintendedasthefinal ones.
