Se vi è capitato di leggere un altro libro su Christopher Robin, forse ricorderete che una volta aveva un cigno (o che il cigno aveva Christopher Robin, non so quale delle due cose) e lo chiamava Pooh. È stato tanto tempo fa e quando ci siamo salutati, ci siamo portati via il nome, perché pensavamo che il cigno non lo volesse più. Ebbene, quando Orso Edoardo disse che avrebbe voluto un nome unico ed emozionante, Christopher Robin disse subito, senza nemmeno pensarci, che lui era Winnie the Pooh. E così fu.

Milne è stato un noto scrittore, soprattutto come autore teatrale, prima che il grande successo di Pooh mettesse in ombra tutti i suoi lavori precedenti. È stato il padre del libraio Christopher Robin Milne, su cui si basa il personaggio di Christopher Robin.
