Really enjoyed this book. Kept me interested throughout, well written, liked the characters and no bamboozling sci fi space nonsense! But clearly thought about the practicalities of space and how one might operate in it. Also liked the moral conversations with the AI. Very enjoyable as well as making me think!

Really enjoyed the story, and look forward to the rest of the series. This is a well written blend of engaging and humorous characters, plausible space travel, thoughtful intelligence and skillful story telling. I would rank this author with C.J. Cherryh and Lois McMaster Bujold.

After twenty years as a US Air Force space operations officer, AM now operates a laptop, trading in real satellites for fictional spaceships in the Folding Space Series, starting with Lightwave: Clocker.
