Гоголь Николай Васильевич(1809—1852) — известный русский писатель. Начало литературной деятельности — опубликованная в 1829 г. поэма "Ганс Кюхельгартен. Идиллия в картинках". Критика приняла поэму насмешливо, в штыки. Автор уничтожает нераспроданные экземпляры книги, однако литературной работы не бросает. В 1831 г. выходит первая часть "Вечеров на хуторе близ Диканьки", принесшая Гоголю известность. Перу Н. В. Гоголя принадлежат также повесть "Тарас Бульба", комедия "Ревизор", "Мертвые души".
