«Царю Северного полюса» - произведение русского поэта, прозаика, драматурга и критика В. Я. Брюсова (1873 – 1924). Поэма написана в 1900 году. Ее автор посвятил Нансену, норвежскому полярному исследователю. Брюсов проводит здесь мысль о том, что познание мира имеет два противоположных полюса, из которых ни один не может быть предпочтен другому. Брюсов – автор более 80 книг стихов, прозы, критики и переводов. Он был видным специалистом по римской поэзии, французскому символизму, творчеству Пушкина и Тютчева, теории русского стиха. Перу Брюсова принадлежат и такие произведения: «Chefs d`?uvre», «Juvenilia», «Me eum esse», «Stephanos», «Tertia Vigilia».
