I didn't like listening to this book, but suspect I may have liked it better if I had actually read it. The biggest issue I had was listening to Celeste Ciulla. Her reading was relatively dry and monotonic compared to other audiobooks I've listened to. I often found my mind drifting, and then she wouldn't pause across a "scene change" so all of I sudden the story was somewhere else and I had to rewind to where the change had happened. At one point, I rewound the book from chapter14 back to chapter 11 because I had no idea what was going on anymore -- I just couldn't stay engaged. In the end it got more interesting, but then I found the book wasn't self contained. There was no closure to anything, and I'd have to listen to the next book to hear the next part of the story. At this point I kind of wanted to know what happens next, but I don't think I could bear listening to another book by this reader. Maybe I'll pick up a copy and read it myself.
