About this audiobook

The acclaimed national bestseller that is “old-school horror at its best” (Stephen King) follows a scout troop as it is unexpectedly caught up in an isolating and utterly terrifying fight for their lives.

Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip—a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfire. But when an unexpected intruder stumbles upon their campsite—shockingly thin, disturbingly pale, and voraciously hungry—Tim and the boys are exposed to something far more frightening than any tale of terror. The human carrier of a bioengineered nightmare. A horror that spreads faster than fear. A harrowing struggle for survival with no escape from the elements, the infected…or one another.

Good story telling. Creepy and gross at times (in a good way) but the description of animal killings were gratuitous and the most disturbing visuals. Might make a good gory movie.

This was my first book ever from the "Nick Cutter" which going into it I had no clue as to what it was going to be about (a gamble that payed off). Paved the path for me to look upon this authors other works. Very Intriguing, a 'real page turner', this story felt fresh throughout and a disturbing treat. Corey Brill who narrated it brought the story to life and brought about its shock and dread perfectly. The story never approached an unbelievable quality, so suspension of disbelief was easy to achieve. Loved the style with bits and pieces of real information in between the main story. Character buildup was effective and left me truly immersed in the story. Good Gory Fun.
