Compelling argument with evidence. I appreciated how Heather McGhee organized the argument and presented the evidence. As a white person, some of the statements made me cringe and think "There's no way racism had a large hand in this..." but the evidence she provided is solid, which makes me doubt whether some of the (few) negative reviews actually read the book. I also appreciated her clear and honest description of the studies she cited, like clarifying that many are correlational. Overall, I find this book to be jam-packed with answers, examples, and research about why the US keeps voting against the policy decisions that a majority and often supermajority of Americans support. Highly recommend!

Awesome breakdown. I just wish the people that just need to read this, were more prone to do so.
