About this audiobook

Two editions, two narrators, one thrilling story. Enjoy this version read by Jack Black, and then be sure to check out the other available version, narrated by Samira Wiley.

The first official Minecraft novel! In the tradition of iconic adventures likeĀ Robinson CrusoeĀ andĀ Treasure Island,Ā the #1Ā New York TimesĀ bestselling author ofĀ World War ZĀ tells the story of a heroā€”stranded in the world of Minecraftā€”who must unravel the secrets of a mysterious island in order to survive.

Washed up on a beach, the lone castaway looks around the shore.Ā Where am I?Ā WhoĀ am I? And why is everything made of blocks?Ā But there isnā€™t much time to soak up the sun. Itā€™s getting dark, and thereā€™s a strange new world to explore!

The top priority is finding food. The next is notĀ becomingĀ food. Because there are others out there on the island . . . like the horde of zombies that appear after night falls. Crafting a way out of this mess is a challenge like no other. Who could build a home while running from exploding creepers, armed skeletons, and an unstoppable tide of hot lava? Especially with no help except for a few makeshift tools and sage advice from an unlikely friend: a cow.

In this world, the rules donā€™t always make sense, but courage and creativity go a long way. There are forests to explore, hidden underground tunnels to loot, and undead mobs to defeat. Only then will the secrets of the island be revealed.

I've been driven to read this book since Minecraft is my favourite game. I must admit the fact it's my first real book I've ever read, so it's also the first impression to literature itself. And, well, I love it so far. As a Minecraft player, I thought the character will experience almost the entire game, but generally, all that happened in the book can be described in a few sentences. And it's not a problem for at all. I fell in love with it and do not regret at all buying this at times of financial trouble. I would definitely recommend it to all Minecraft fans, as well as to all gamer out there. This is a great example of a book driven by a videogame.

I really enjoyed the story! As someone who has played alot of mindcraft, it was really fun to think of the world in this way. It made me start up a new world. Not to rush thru like I usually do but to go slowly thru my progression and focus more on enjoying the different aspects of the game I usually wouldn't. Great story and I look forward to hearing the rest!
