the book is great, but it's basically just Halo 1 the game, in verbal form... I kept seeing the game scenes as I listened to it... it was a cool experience..... in some scenes in almost a strategy guide. makes me wanna go play the game again and do what the chief does in this story.

It's a fantastic novelization of the game which manages to break free of the game's shortcomings in the third act by giving us side characters and sub plots that are interesting and insightful. The narration performance is consistently expressive.

Read this book when I was 12 and obsessed with halo, can't recommend it enough for any halo fan. I just think paying $20 for an audio book that is almost 20 years old is outrageous
