The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis is a Christian devotional book. It is a guidebook for spiritual life that evolved from the Devotio Moderna movement, of which Kempis was a participant. The Imitation is possibly the most commonly read Christian devotional work after the Bible and is considered a religious classic. Apart from the Bible, no book has been translated into more languages than the Imitation of Christ at the time.
