They drank too much French wine, looted too many German cameras and watches, and fought too often with other GIs. But in training and combat they learned selflessness and found the closest brotherhood they ever knew. They discovered that in war, men who loved life would give their lives for them.

Confused . This isn't even an abridged copy of the book it's more like an abridged copy of an abridged screenplay. .I feel I have been ripped off. With no mechanism like audibles to return books a person may be unhappy with for whatever reason.. I have read this book before but though I would add it to my library of audible type books that I am slowly ammasing. But as I said this isn't even an abridged copy of the book.

this is an abridged version which viewers of the hbo series may enjoy but leaves out much of the original book AND THE STORY THE AUTHOR INTENDED TO TELL.
