The reader has a speech impediment that makes listening a real challenge. I have loved the book forever and had high hopes but alas, I was disappointed. Listen to the preview and if you are okay with it then go ahead. The content is superb.

Available captivating. No idea what the other reviewer it's referring to regarding the narrator. It was read as effectively at it was written.

Samuel Shem is the pen name of Stephen Bergman, a doctor, novelist, playwright, and activist whose books include Mount Misery, The Spirit of the Place, and Fine.
