Audiobook review: Story – 5 Performance – 5 Overall – 5 One of my favorite series ever! I fell in love with Virgin River sometime in late 2012. I’d recently retired and, after years of not reading for pleasure, I finally had time to read again. I honestly can’t remember how I discovered the series but I can tell you that once I did, I went through all of the books pretty quickly; I couldn’t get enough of the characters and the setting. I listened to the audiobook of this and Therese Plummer did a fantastic job. I’d listened to a couple of the other books in the series (after having first read them) so I was familiar with her voice and was so happy that she was able to also narrate this one as well. I was very sad to see the series end and I was so happy when I found out there would be another book. I don’t watch TV at all any more so I haven’t seen the Netflix series based on it but I imagine that the series deserves some of the credit for getting us another book. 😊 This story fit right in with the previous ones; it was like going back to visit an old friend. I loved the characters and really felt for them for what they were going through. I knew that it would have an HEA but I have to admit that I shed a few tears, both happy and sad, before I finished the book. Virgin River is probably my favorite fictional place to visit. It would be great if we could have an annual visit there in the form of another book. A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me by the publisher but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
