About this audiobook

An empowering and witty guide to banishing shame and living your fullest life with ADHD—plus tips for loved ones on helping them navigate this world, too—from viral duo ADHD_Love.

What if you stopped feeling ashamed of constantly being late or of getting so hyperfocused on a task that you drop everything else you had to do? How can you as a partner, parent, or friend better understand your neurodivergent loved one’s way of moving through the world?

In Dirty Laundry, life partners Rich Pink and Rox Emery unapologetically guide you through the ups and downs of life with ADHD. Every chapter starts with a common symptom of ADHD, like impulsivity or struggles with finances, and an earnest moment from their own lives to show you how they navigate the symptom together. Rox reminds you to be kind to yourself and love yourself for who you are; Rich offers tips on how he uses compassion and honesty instead of jumping to conclusions. Whether it's helping your ADHDer with friendly time-checks before an appointment or reminding yourself to take breaks during hours spent hyperfocusing on a new project, Rox and Rich give you the tools to destigmatize and normalize life with ADHD.

I'm glad I started with the audiobook, although I will likely buy a visual copy in the future because though I'm now often between the extremes of either rarely or until the wee hours in my relationship with visual reading, I still love it. Since getting more into audiobooks thanks to a wonderful husband who was more of a listener than reader, I've made it through the entire Jim Dale Harry Potter series faster than the Kindle version of "The Handmaid's Tale," and it's nothing to do with how interesting I found the story and everything to do with why it's been over 2 years since I finally bought my own copy of a book on the topic of distraction after repeatedly failing to finish the library copy. But now with Text-to-Speech and an awesome Bluetooth speaker, it's next on the list. I totally get what they're talking about when they say people can tend to start crying when they meet them. This book isn't a do I/don't I have it type of manual. It's the validation of finally being seen.

I was laughing so hard listening to this book. I can honestly say it sounds as if me and my husband wrote the book. feel like we mimic you guys exactly, but it's kind of nice to have it broken down and easy to read and easy to explain to those that don't understand how our brains function

This was amazing! I felt legitimately understood, and you can put me on your list of people who've cried out of sheer validation. Thank you so much, Rox and Rich! -- Rain
