I had high expectations of this book and hoped to learn some insights into how to run a successful business. However I was left very disappointed. Maybe I had misunderstood what the intentions of this book were. I wanted it to be full of tips that I could apply but instead I found it to be dull and boring. It was a history book that didn’t grab my interest. The audio is too monotonic and at times staccato. It focuses more on the person and not enough on the strategies for running a successful business. I found myself thinking that it could have been about the guy who lives next door instead of a man running a large corporation. Normally I take notes when reading business books about things that I can apply but in this case I struggled to find any. I waited and waited for some useful tips but none appeared. Obviously Ray Kroc is much more successful than I will ever be but this book didn’t enlighten me as to what things he could teach me.

Ray Kroc (1902-1984) was an American businessman most famous for founding McDonald's at the age of fifty-two. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful entrepreneurs of the twentieth century.
