About this audiobook

Narrated by Jennifer Jason Leigh

Quentin Tarantino’s long-awaited first work of fiction — at once hilarious, delicious, and brutal — is the always surprising, sometimes shocking new novel based on his Academy Award- winning film.

RICK DALTON – Once he had his own TV series, but now Rick’s a washed-up villain-of-the week drowning his sorrows in whiskey sours. Will a phone call from Rome save his fate or seal it?

CLIFF BOOTH – Rick’s stunt double, and the most infamous man on any movie set because he’s the only one there who might have gotten away with murder. . . .

SHARON TATE – She left Texas to chase a movie-star dream, and found it. Sharon’s salad days are now spent on Cielo Drive, high in the Hollywood Hills.

CHARLES MANSON – The ex-con’s got a bunch of zonked-out hippies thinking he’s their spiritual leader, but he’d trade it all to be a rock ‘n’ roll star.

HOLLYWOOD 1969 – YOU SHOULDA BEEN THERE

All time fan of Tarantino. And Hollywood is one of my top 3 movies of Quentin. However. 1.The book is pretty blunt. ive expected that it will add so many layers and colours to the amazing movie. it didn't. 2. BUT MY BIGGEST complaint is (and i hate to be personal)...But.. Who in the hell did hired that mouthful, zero-intonations, zero-emotions girl to narrate this book? Seriously. With her lack of any bookreading skills, she should be nowhere near eBooks industry. At best, she is qualified to read weather forecast on the local radio channel. She mumble, she tumble, she have awful annoying voice and can play zero effects/dramatic intonations. What a disaster.

The movie is amazing and set to become a classic. The book delivers great insights, new scenes, and answers to questions previously asked. Even having seen the movie, the book manages to feel original in its presentation. However, it is missing Tarantino's fantastic bloody violence. Without that "fun," the book lays a bit below in terms of enjoyment.

The movie is much better than the book. Though the book does have a bunch of extra interesting new things to add to the story. The book does, however, make the timeline of events very confusing and even hard to follow at times.
