About this audiobook

New York Times bestselling author Meghan March continues the story of ruthless, calculating billionaire Jericho Forge in Luck of the Devil.

My poker face has always been one of my greatest assets, along with my grit and determination. I was beholden to no one. Asked permission for nothing.

Then Jericho Forge took my life by storm.

I traded my freedom for something infinitely more precious, but I didn’t realize he was holding an unbeatable hand.

Now, all I have to do is survive the high-stakes game that is my life—with my heart intact.

But not falling in love with Forge? That will take the luck of the devil.

Luck of the Devil is the second book of the Forge Trilogy, and should be read following Deal with the Devil. The Forge Trilogy concludes in Heart of the Devil.

The action starts right from where Deal With The Devil left off. This time Jericho Forge gives us a little insight into what his past was like. He doesn’t want people’s sympathy but you can’t help but feel sorry for the little boy. India Baptiste continues to show how strong a woman she is. If you loved listening to the first book than you’ll want to make sure to get this latest in the Forge Trilogy. Our narrators, Joe Arden and Erin Mallon, continue to bring this author’s work to life. You will have no trouble picturing each scene as the story goes on. We rely on them to bring our author’s words to life and they do that in spades. This book looks at an agreement that these two made and how their relationship builds. There’s plenty of suspense as well. The suspense seems to swirl around Indy but having a man like Jericho in her world is a good thing. There’s still that back and forth of “will they?” “won’t they?”. Try to find a good stopping point is next to impossible. I only stopped when I really had to – work you know. Just like in the first book, I still can’t decide if Jericho is an angel or a devil. That’s ok though because that made it easy for me to decide that I had to keep listening. The author’s very good at her job because I couldn’t decide where things were going – she has me constantly guessing. With winter storms coming into the area, I’ve decided being somewhere warm when I get ready to listen to this trilogy again will be at the top of my list. Being on an island, lounging on a beach, with a drink in my hand sounds like a good plan. The heat between our main characters is not hard to imagine. Having a great pair of narrators helps with the visuals. Having someone who can make her words sing is the other. This was a great way to have the outside world disappear and just concentrate on the lives of Jericho Forge and India Baptiste. But just like the first book, I’m not prepared for the ending. You think it’s going to be happy and then comes that question, again, “what just happened?” proceeded by “when can I get my hands on book three?” You can’t leave me hanging now! This book does not disappoint – unless you count the fact that book three isn’t out yet. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

joe arden is the perfect jericho forge. the timbre of his voice, the way he conveys all the danger and that squishy soft heart beneath all the baggage is total perfection. there wasn't a better choice for this series, and luck of the devil is just as an enjoyable listen as deal with the devil. erin mallon is also a great indy, her way of questioning how she's gotten herself into the position she's in, with that touch of self-deprecation and the steely determination to get her way is just perfect for the character. i love when i have the chance to both read and listen, because the experience of doing one or the other is different, but my enjoyment of the story remains the same. i love this trilogy and can't wait to listen to heart of the devil. i might have to go out and search for some more of the duo's audiobooks. **luck of the devil releases on audio on february 12, 2019. i received an advance listening copy courtesy of meghan march in exchange for my honest review.
