About this audiobook

Desperate in his search of the secret of life, young Dr Victor Frankenstein attempts to construct and then bring to life a previously inanimate creature. He succeeds, yet immediately finds himself horrified and repulsed by the fruit of his long-lasting labors and, as a result, abandons the creature without a word. This action begins a series of tragic events in the life of the scientist, as the enraged monster begins his quest to fill every minute of Dr. Frankenstein’s life with terror, dread and misery. First published in 1818, this novel continues to captivate the audience today. Frankenstein is not merely a horror story, but, rather, a tale that would make its readers ponder on the pursuit of knowledge and explore what monstrosity truly means.

Sorry to say that I only managed 1hr 19mins of this book before giving up altogether. The narrator is obviously English but his mis-pronunciation of some of the simplest words was driving me insane. HITHERTO for example. I do hope he gets some practice in before he sets off on another adventure with our hard earned money.... Sorry mate

I gave up about half an hour in. The reader has a pleasing voice and manner, but he often badly mispronounces words (for example, he said "intonation" like it was spelled "inotation"...) He also has trouble with Shelley's very long sentences, and often pauses mid-sentence, which is confusing. It's cheap, but I'd say skip this one.

This was my first ever audio book. Took me a minute to get used to. Some hickups throughout the book but a good experience nonetheless.
