The content of this book may be good, but I will never know. I'm about 5 minutes into the audiobook version of this book and the narrator's voice makes me want to kill myself. The narration of the audiobook is terrible in ways I cannot even begin to exaggerate. I want you to imagine the worst narration possible, take a moment, and try to under that it's worse than that. it exceeds the bounds of imagination. In no reality could I have believed this could have been produced and then sold for money. More than one person signed off on this production. Yet, not one person bothered to listen to a second of the narration during production to check for quality. If they had, I guarantee you on my life, that this audiobook would have not been released. Imagine a robot was trying to bore you to death with a tone and cadence that is not attempting to pass for human. How does this narrator sound less human than a Speak and Spell? I cannot believe this. This is a sick prank.

About the author

Janet Burroway is the author of plays, poetry, children's books, and eight novels, including The Buzzards, Raw Silk, and Bridge of Sand. She is Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor Emerita at Florida State University. She lives in Chicago and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Stuckey-French is the author of several novels, including the Revenge of the Radioactive Lady and Mermaids on the Moon, as well as a collection of short stories, the First Paper Girl in Red Oak, Iowa. She teaches fiction writing at Florida State University.

Ned Stuckey-French is Associate Professor of English at Florida State University. He is coauthor, with Janet Burroway and Elizabeth Stuckey-French of the eighth edition of Writing Fiction: A Guide to Narrative Craft. He lives with his wife, author Elizabeth Stuckey-French, in Tallahassee, Florida.
