Boring, unrealistic An American comes to Italy, has no clue about wine and becomes a sommelier in seconds where others need years of intensiv training. A murder, a little flirtation, some cute animals and bam - you have a cozy mystery novel. And the narrator should have learned at least how to pronounce the different wines. Her interpretation of an Italian accent was more of a Russian butcher. All in all... Boring

(I am not rating this book based on all fiction or even all within its genre. I am rating this book based upon what this book is intended to be: light and entertaining.) I stopped listening at chapter seventeen. I only held on to see if or when an actual mystery would occur. It was not until chapter fifteen or sixteen that the actual mystery began. That means chapter after chapter was just introduction. That's more than a slow start, it's desperation to fill audiobook minutes just to waste our time and money. I don't require deep character development in lighter fare, but the characters here were the literary equivalent of the cheapest microwave dinners. So bland, artificial and forgettable it's better to look for something just as cheap but twice as fulfilling elsewhere. (Even if it requires extra effort--i.e., reading it myself.) There is more, but I think that's sufficient to explain my review.

More a romantic comedy than a murder mystery. Enjoyable to listen to, the writing is keeping you interested and the reader did a great job. Thanks!
