He was nominated for an Academy Award for Gosford Park and for a number of Emmys for his TV movies Bernard and Doris and Georgia O’Keeffe, as well as a Tony Award, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe. He had the pleasure of playing Warren Littlefield in the movie The Late Shift and Russell Dalrymple on Seinfeld.
