In our age of quantification, Democracy's Data not only teaches us how to read between the lines but gives us a new perspective on the relationship between representation, identity, and governance.

Dan Bouk researches the history of bureaucracies, quantification, and other modern things shrouded in cloaks of boringness. His work investigates the ways that corporations and states have used, abused, and re-made the categories that structure our daily experiences of being human. He teaches history at Colgate University.
