I had never read anything by this woman or read anything about her either. I felt very foolish when it dawned on me quickly that this book was written by a crazy person. then the more I listened the more I realized she had just had a baby and was suffering from probably postpartum depression. after I finished this sad and ridiculous waste of time silly arse book I read up on this Charlotte woman apparently she was ahead of her time in the 1800s expressing her mental illness. I won't waste any more time on her books but I do appreciate her condition and her breakthrough stories to try to help others.

About the author

Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860–1935) gained much of her fame with lectures on women’s issues, ethics, labor, human rights, and social reform. She often referred to these themes in her fiction. She is best remembered for her 1892 short story “The Yellow Wallpaper,” based on her own bout with severe postpartum depression and misguided medical treatment.
