About this audiobook

You're not going home. You're not going anywhere. You're mine now. Growing up in a deeply troubled family, fifteen-year-old Anna felt lost and alone in the world. So when a friendly taxi driver befriended her, Anna welcomed the attention, and agreed to go home with him to meet his family. She wouldn't escape for over a decade. Held captive by a sadistic pedophile, Anna was subjected to despicable levels of sexual abuse and torture. The unrelenting violence and degradation resulted in numerous miscarriages, and the birth of four babies . . . each one stolen away from Anna at birth. Her salvation arrived thirteen years too late, but despite her shattered mind and body, Anna finally managed to flee. This is her harrowing, yet uplifting, true story of survival. Contains mature themes.

This should be under fiction. I'm not in denial that this horror happens in real life. It's that several parts of this book are logically inconsistent and feel absurdly embellished... which makes me question her overall veracity. If any part of this is true, its awful enough without the fanciful embellishments. I feel this book detracts from the unembellished true stories of abduction and trafficking victims. The ending with her mum, childhood bf, etc feels purely like wishful thinking.

when I started listening to this, I thought how can anyone be sane after going through this, but I wanted to see what I could find out more about her cause it seemed off like untrue, cause a cab driver walks in and says go to meet my mom normally strangers don't go around asking you to do that, and then where she is locked up in a house full of people and they all help him to keep her there and they know she is being beat and rapped, this seems far fetched to me, so I Googled her and her story and it's weird how she will give interviews but won't go to the police and they have pretty much begged her and she avoids them, but she writes a book and interviews alrighty then I'm on 3rd chapter wish I could get a refund.

I'm shocked at a few of the reviews.. Maybe the few people writing the negative comments have the luxury of not realising how cruel people can be.. I would have given 5* if there was a bit of a back story so the reader knows how you met ect.. Anna I think you are a very strong woman and I hope you are now enjoying life..
