About this audiobook

The story of Geralt of Rivia continues as war rages on in this epic fantasyā€”now, the story of The Witcher continues in the saga that inspired the second season of the Netfix series.

For over a century, humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves have lived together in relative peace. But times have changed, the uneasy peace is over, and now the races are fighting once again. The only good elf, it seems, is a dead elf.

Geralt of Rivia, the cunning hunter known as the Witcher, has been waiting for the birth of a prophesied child. This child has the power to change the world for goodā€”or for evil.

As the threat of war hangs over the land and the child is hunted for her extraordinary powers, it will become Geralt's responsibility to protect them all. And the Witcher never accepts defeat.

Overrated and boring. Written by a conceded author who fails to recognize his flaws. After 200 pages nothing has happened. Instead of showing the world and characters as legendary heros with grand backstories you are simply told just that. As the first book in the series it fails to create meaningful bonds because that is all told in preview/short story/world building novels. Those books should be considered first in the series not this, but don't tell the author that. He'll only call you dumb.

An enjoyable story and an enticing setting. The dialogue is carried by the reader very well and the book woulnt have been anywhere near palatable if this wasnt the case. It's a format of back and forth dialogue I haven't really seen published before, but it was understandable and surprisingly emotive. Recommend.
