The first book was all right and I decided to get this so I could see what happens next. I don't know if I just didn't realize it in the first book or I'm misinterpreting, but the narrator sounds like she's trying to suppress her laughter in some scenes when it's supposed to be serious or upsetting and it just throws off the mood. But that doesn't bother me as much as *POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT* who Crystal's love interest is. He isn't in the first book but first appears in the 2nd. If I had known the author was gonna make it happen, I wouldn't have purchased the series. It makes me uncomfortable though I guess it might not bother others. Also have to remember that Crystal is just a teenager so she might do things that makes you want to scream. EDIT: I got over the relationship thing and finished the series and overall it's a decent listen.
