About this app

Do you feed birds? You can report what you see for science. Project FeederWatch, a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Birds Canada, monitors winter feeder-bird populations in North America. The FeederWatch Mobile App is a new way for Project FeederWatch members to contribute their bird counts.

11-9-22 update:. After receiving message from developer that they fixed the app, I was once again able to access it! Thank you for fixing it! Still can't access app since update. Contacted developers and they said to uninstall and reinstall which I've done multiple times. Tried accessing again after 3 months and still can't get in. If you want people to pay to do the Feeder Watch project, get your app fixed or bring it back to the prior version that worked and would let you log in to it.

After over a month of attempts to use it, the app is very slow when it works at all. Mostly non-responsive. Buttons seem to register a 'touch' with a color wave through it, but then it never shows that button selected (e.g. hours watched). Too frustrating to use at all. UPDATE: New Android 10 phone. Much better responses but "buttons" can still require multiple presses to register. Adding count data a bit awkward but ok

I have not used this app the last 2 seasons...it was so buggy and useless. I thought I would try it out this season. I made my counts on a notepad and thought I could use my phone to enter. I can't even put in yesterday's date...or any date besides the 2016‐17 season. There isn't a way to "clean up" old counts that I ended up using a computer to enter data from years past. I didn't even get a chance to see if the counting aspect is still glitchy. Uninstall again!

Welcome to a revamped version of the Project FeederWatch app! In addition to a performance overhaul under the hood, we have incorporated new data entry options to record mammals, management activity, and more. We have also made a French translation of the mobile app available.
