About this game

CubeX is a featured Cube solver that is capable of generating the shortest possible solution from any valid input state. Just enter the cube state manually or simply scan using the camera, and CubeX will guide you through the steps to solve your cube in minutes! CubeX also features a stylish Virtual Cube to play with and an intuitive Cube Timer. All this works offline and for free! CubeX is the only cubing app you'll ever need.

CubeX offers two solving mechanisms. The Fridrich Solver and The Advanced Solver.

Fridrich Solver gives you a layer-by-layer solution. This solver is based on the popular Fridrich Method (or CFOP Method) of solving the Cube.

Advanced Solver can generate the shortest possible solution within seconds. Solutions to any valid 3x3 cube can be generated with lengths of no more than 20 moves! At its core, the advanced solver is an implementation of Herbert Kociemba's Two-Phase Algorithm.

Pattern Solver helps you to reach any valid pattern from any valid pattern on the cube in the shortest possible number of turns.

Virtual Cube lets you Play, Learn, Solve and track solve times accurately. You can apply predefined or custom patterns to Virtual Cube and manipulate Virtual Cube using your own algorithms. You can also run Fridrich or Advanced Solver on the Virtual Cube directly.

Cube Timer simulates the professional cube timer used in competitions. Practicing with the timer helps you keep track of your solve times and keep it improving.

This is my favorite cube app, but it's a 4/5 for 3 reasons. One, it has some ads, not a lot, but occasionally when I go to use the camera input, I have to sit through an ad. Secondly, the scramble option is just a pattern that you manually have to save, then go to pattern solver, and enter that pattern, I wish it could just create random moves and tell you what they are. If you're looking for an all around good app though, this is perfect.

Solves the cube every time. I've had no issues entering the current state of the manual, though using the camera can be a little hit or miss even after calibration. Perhaps lighting needs to be exact but will try again and update this review. Finds solutions quickly and animation makes it easy to see what to do. I also like that there are patterns it can solve and you don't have to start from a solved cube. It also can accommodate cubes with different color configurations which is a plus.

It works! My cube was not the default color layout. But using the custom color scheme picker it could be solved. The camera scan never worked and just gave a generic error message. It would have been better and saved some head-scratching time if the app told me the center square colors don't match the standard Rubik layout. And then point me to the custom color scheme. I had to figure that out on my own. Otherwise, bravo!
